This course will show how the Alexander Dennis hybrid bus works, the benefits of hybrid buses and the principles of how the hybrid system reduces the amount of fuel used, dramatically reducing emissions.
A three day course aimed at competent technicians. Trainees will be encouraged to develop their understanding by participating in practical exercises and discussion throughout the course.
The use of a hybrid bus is required for this course, but we cannot always guarantee to have one available. We may therefore ask customers to provide the bus, in which case training can be delivered either in Farnborough or on-site at your location, subject to suitable training facilities being made available.
Trainees who attend and pass this course will be able to safely shut-down the hybrid high voltage (HV) system, carry out disconnection/re-connection of the HV system, remove HV access covers, undertake “touch-testing” with a digital multimeter, remove/replace hybrid main units including the batteries (ESS unit) and carry out diagnostic and fault-finding activities using diagnostic software (IDS™) on a laptop. It does not allow trainees to strip or repair any of the hybrid main units.
Continual assessments are used throughout the course to help deligates track progress and results, 80% minimum pass rate required to issue certificate.
